We all like being right, and I'm no exception.
In this May 14 post I wrote:
Michael Porter Jr. is a hell of a player, but his shoulder injury is affecting his shot (and his ability to defend). If he can't shoot, he shouldn't be on the floor. His three misses from distance in the second half last night aided the OKC comeback. He shot 1-7 overall including 0-5 from 3. Denver's bench is thin, but Julian Strawther would likely have contributed more. Don't get me wrong —— MPJ en fuego is a sight to behold –— but it didn't take much to see that he wasn't going to catch fire last night.
Last night the Nuggets were able to force a Game 7 (Sunday in OKC) based in large part on what the NBA on ESPN called "the Julian Strawther game" on Twitter.
Also, while the ESPN recap seemed more interested in what Strawther had to say about Jamal Murray (aka the anti-Harden) playing through illness, they said the loud part quiet-like along the way (emphasis mine):
"Jamal is just a different cat," said Nuggets reserve wing Julian Strawther, who scored all 15 of his points in the second half, including eight during a tiebreaking 10-0 run late in the third quarter. "He's wired differently. We know he's one of the toughest guys in the league."
I'd punctuate this with a "carry the hell on" but I think I can do better than cribbing from Kendrick Perkins.
